Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how VOCO (“VOCO,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information. It applies to the VOCO mobile application and the website at vocoapp.io (together, the “Service”).
VOCO is an AI-assisted interview preparation and practice tool. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information to provide and improve the Service:
- Account information. When you create an account or sign in (including via Google, through our authentication provider), we receive your name, email address, profile image, and a unique account identifier.
- Content you provide. Résumés and CVs you upload (the files and the text extracted from them), candidate profiles, job and role details you enter (such as company name, job title, job description, and interviewer names), and the questions, answers, and messages exchanged during interview and practice sessions.
- Voice and audio. When you use voice input, audio is captured and processed to transcribe your speech to text. We use audio to generate transcripts and do not retain raw audio recordings longer than needed to provide and troubleshoot the feature.
- Generated content. Transcripts of your answers, and the interview questions, feedback, summaries, and scores that the Service generates for you.
- Subscription and purchase information. Your subscription status, plan, and related transaction identifiers. Purchases are processed by the applicable app store (such as Google Play); we do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
- Usage and diagnostic data. How you interact with the Service, feature usage, usage allowances, and app performance and error logs.
- Device and technical data. Device type, operating system, app version, language preference, and similar technical information.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
- Authenticate you and secure your account;
- Generate interview questions, practice sessions, feedback, summaries, and scores tailored to your résumé and target role;
- Transcribe voice input into text;
- Manage subscriptions and apply plan limits and usage allowances;
- Respond to your requests and provide support;
- Monitor, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Service, and prevent fraud and abuse;
- Comply with legal obligations.
AI processing of your content
VOCO relies on third-party large language model (LLM) and speech providers to deliver its core features. To generate interview content, feedback, and transcriptions, content you provide — such as résumé text, job details, your answers, and audio or transcripts — is sent to these providers for processing. We route these requests through a managed proxy. These providers process the data to return results to you and in accordance with their own terms.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf to operate the Service, including providers for:
- Authentication and account management;
- AI and language-model processing, and speech transcription;
- Application hosting and database storage;
- Subscription management and app-store distribution and billing;
- Analytics, logging, and error monitoring.
We may also disclose information to comply with applicable law, legal process, or enforceable governmental requests; to enforce our terms; to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; and to protect the rights, property, or safety of VOCO, our users, or others. If VOCO is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Data retention
We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify the associated content, except where we are required or permitted to retain it — for example, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or for legitimate business and security purposes.
Your choices and rights
- Access and update. You can view and update much of your information directly in the app.
- Delete your account. You can delete your account from within the app, which removes your associated profiles and content as described above.
- Microphone. Voice features require microphone access, which you can grant or revoke at any time in your device settings.
- Subscriptions. You can manage or cancel a subscription through your app-store account.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International data transfers
VOCO and its service providers may process and store your information in countries other than the one in which you live, including the United States. Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the updated policy on this page. Significant changes may be communicated through the Service.
